Short Description

King's Landing is the Capital of Westeros and second largest city on the continent. It is surrounded by the lands loyal to the crown, the Crownlands. King's Landing was built on three hills, Aegon's, Visenya's and Rhaenys'. Ingame it consists of more than 4,000 unique houses, several septs, guildhalls and manses.

The Red Keep (/warp redkeep)

The Red Keep is a huge crimson castle sitting on Aegon's Hill. Next to Maegor's Keep it contains the throne hall with the sharp Iron Throne, the seat of the king of Westeros, as well as a sept, the Maiden's Vault, the Tower of the Hand and a godswood with a huge oak tree.

Baelor's Sept (/warp baelors)

Baelor the blessed brought the Fatih of the Seven to King's Landing. We find his statue in front of the Great Sept. In the Dome we find seven detailed statues in clockwise direction: Stranger, Warrior, Father, Mother, Maiden, Smith and Crone. The Towers of the Sept contain dungeons cells. Under Baelor's we find the tombs of the Kings of Westeros, also the quarters of the Silent Sisters

The Street of Steel (/warp streetofsteel)

The Street of Steel evolves up Visenya's Hill and is lined with smithies and iron mongers, one of wich is Tobho's Motts. It starts at fishmonger's square and leads to Baelor's Sept.

The Dragonpit (/warp dragonpit)

The Dragonpit on Rhaenys' Hill was built by the Targaryan kings to keep their dragons away from the citizens of King's Landing. However, after the last dragon died, the gates were sealed and the pit fell into ruins. At present it is used to store wildfire. Whores know a way into the ruin and sometimes take customers there.

The Street of Silk (/warp streetofsilk)

The red-light-district can mainly be found at the Street of Silk between Dragon Gate and Old Gate. Brothels, exotic goods, luxuries and jewellery can be found there. In A Song of Ice and Fire, Chataya owns one the more wealthier brothels. It is situated halfway up Rhaenys' Hill.

Flea Bottom

The poorest of the poor live in Flea Bottom at the foor of Rhaenys' Hill. The district has various layers of houses and shacks, the lower ones only dimly lit. It is a maze that leads deep under the city and into the sewers..
Features

Alchemists' Guildhall (/warp klsquare)

The guildhall is situated at the central square. In the cellars of the black and red brick building, alchemists produce the highly inflammable wildfire. Wildfire rarely is displayed bi lighting the tall black pillars in the main hall
.

Tipps for Explorers

  • You can warp to all the main gates. Just type /warp nameofgate (exception Gate of Gods = godsgate).
    * You can find various Targaryan statues throughout the city
    * Try to find the Sept of Stranger in Flea Bottom
    * The Central Square is a mosaic showing a three-headed dragon
    * The switch to light the columns in the Alchemists' Guildhall with wildfire is dusty but works
    * The sewers are worth a walk, if you can live with wet feet
    * Have a look at the graveyards near Visenya's Hill for funny tombstones and secret passages
    * Outside the city there are the tourney grounds. Don't miss to visit them!

Construction

King's Landing was the biggest server project so far. It was scheduled for lasting about two months, but was only fully finished after half a year. All the houses were built and furnished by hand. We lost count but we estimate them to be more than 4,000. The more important buildings were each led by one or two maesters. The Red Keep costed about five detailed tests, before it looked like what everyone imagined.
