Longtable is the seat of House Merryweather in the Reach.[2] It neighbors Bitterbridge and Rhysling and sits along the Mander.

Features

  • Longtable town, a town just south of of the castle. It features a small market, a tavern, sept, storage barn and fountain.
  • Longtable castle, features a moat and drawbridge. There is indeed a long table present in the dining hall located on the north end of the bailey. It also features a keep, kitchen, sept, guesthouse, stable, training yard and barracks. A unique element is to check out the dungeons where floodwaters runs in during the rain, making a prisoner's experience quite unpleasantly wet.
  • Thatchell, a small hamlet to the west
  • Dunwick, a small hamlet to the west

Construction

"Snake" was the original lead of Longtable, along the way they left it abandoned. The project quickly grew outdated as the whitewashed plaster Snaked had used did not fare well against the newer updated iterations of the same idea. So while it was almost near completion, no one wanted to touch project as it had aged so poorly.

Otty, who had recently completed a foster at Cressey and Grassyvale, wanted a bigger foster challenge that required more updating. So, she took up house Merryweather in September of 2019. The project was only lacking the request for post-approval to be considered complete but, as aforementioned, the design had fallen below standards over time. Therefore, the project was more of an update than anything else.

Each house and town required a significant amount of overhaul as they updated the whitewash to match the current and more trendy palette. Interiors were also stripped from each home and redone. The castle included some larger changes to give it more space. For instance, the long hall (home to the long table) was rotated 90 degrees to be nestled in the north wall of the castle. All interiors were stripped aswell and redo mostly from scratch.
