Palisade Village (also called Steepstream) is a small village in the foothills of the Mountains of the Moon. The village is situated a little north of the village of Sweetwillow, and it is almost directly north of Lord Harroway's Town. No specific house directly rules over it, but its allegiance lies with House Arryn.

  • Lumber Mill, a small lumbermill where the villagers process their lumber. Lumber is the main export of the village.
  • The Steep Stream, flows through the village, the citizens of Palisade Village wash their clothes there and get their water from there. The village is also referred to as Steepstream because of this natural feature.

In the application for Palisade Village, ertylink00 also applied for a small village a little south of Palisade Village, at the time called SecondVillage. Both villages were mentioned in the same chapter of A Feast for Crows. Ertylink00 started by plotting out both villages, then he opened up the plots. Various builders built in both villages over a few months. Ertylink00 built the lumber mill and village meeting point himself. Palisade Village was finished a few days before SecondVillage. When both villages were done he named Palisade Village Steepstream and SecondVillage Eysley. This was not the first version of Palisade Village or SecondVillage. The year before, ertylink00 had built both villages as his first project. However, it was decided that the villages were not up to server standards, and ertylink00 decided to redo them both himself. The older version of the villages were much less thought out and used a different style.

The builder took inspiration from various mountain villages, and the terraced fields of the village were inspired by the terraced fields used in many of the cultures living in or by mountains.
